Before You Apply

This Is an Advanced Programme — A Yoga Alliance RYT-200 Certificate (or Equivalent 200-Hour Training) Is Required to Enroll

Why 300 Hours?

The Bridge to RYT-500 — Yoga Alliance's Highest Designation

A 300-hour advanced yoga teacher training is not a repeat of the 200-hour foundation — it is what comes after. Once you hold an RYT-200 and complete an additional 300 hours at a Registered Yoga School, Yoga Alliance recognises you as eligible for RYT-500: the credential held by the most experienced, most trusted teachers in the global yoga industry. There is no shortcut to this number. It is earned only through depth.
At Mahamukti, that depth means advanced asana and arm balance mastery, therapeutic and hands-on adjustment training, a full module in Ayurveda, mudras and bandhas, advanced pranayama and meditation, and the kind of philosophical and ethical grounding that lets you teach with real authority — not just correct cues. You arrive a competent teacher. You leave a master of your craft.

Complete Ashtanga Primary Series — Yoga Chikitsa (Yoga Therapy)

All 41 Postures of the Primary Series — Taught in the Mysore Tradition

27–30
Marichyasana A, B, C & D

31
Navasana

Boat Pose — five breaths, five repetitions; one of the most demanding core exercises in yoga

32–33
Bhujapidasana & Kurmasana

Teaching Methodology — Cues That Actually Work

Great teachers know how to see, diagnose, and communicate. This sub-module covers directional cueing (anatomical vs. action language), hands-on and verbal adjustments, reading a student's body in a standing posture, and managing a class of mixed abilities. Students practise cueing each other in pairs and small groups daily from day five.

03

Yin Yoga — The Art of Stillness

One of the fastest-growing styles in the world — and one of the most misunderstood. The challenge of Yin is not strength or flexibility, but the ability to be still with discomfort.

Fascia ScienceLong Holds (3–5 min)PratyaharaDharanaTherapeutic Yoga

Where most yoga engages muscles, Yin works with deep connective tissue — fascia, ligaments, and joints. Postures are held for three to five minutes, encouraging release at a much deeper level.

Dragon

Deep Hip Flexor Lunge

One of the most powerful hip flexor releases in any yoga system. 3–5 minutes per side.

Sleeping Swan

Deep Piriformis Release

A profound stretch for the piriformis and outer hip — the Yin version of Pigeon Pose.

Saddle

Anterior Spine & Quad Stretch

The deepest backbend in Yin — progressively approached with bolsters for safety.

Seal & Sphinx

Lumbar Compression

Beneficial compression of the lumbar vertebrae — taught safely and therapeutically.

Snail & Dragonfly

Cervical & Hamstring Release

Deep stretches using gravity and complete muscular surrender — the signature of Yin practice.

Shoelace & Deer

Outer Hip & Piriformis

Two outer-hip variations addressing different aspects of hip rotation.

Yin as a Meditation Tool

Long holds create the conditions for pratyahara and dharana. Students learn to guide practitioners inward using breath, body scanning, and deliberate silence — in dedicated teaching labs.

04

Pranayama, Meditation & Mantra — Where Real Transformation Happens

This module goes significantly deeper than the 100-hour course. Advanced techniques, breath retention, Yoga Nidra, and mantra science are introduced with careful daily guidance.

Yoga Anatomy & Physiology — Understanding the Body You Teach

Great yoga teachers understand the body. This module gives students the anatomical literacy to teach safely, adjust intelligently, and understand each student's unique needs.

Musculoskeletal SystemNervous SystemInjury PreventionBody TypesFascia Science

The Musculoskeletal System

Muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints most relevant to yoga — hamstrings, hip flexors, rotator cuff, lumbar ligaments.

How to modify postures for different skeletal structures — from prescriptive cueing to responsive cueing.

Fascia — The Emerging Science

What fascia is, how it responds to long-held stretches, and why warm-up matters more than most teachers realise.

06

Yoga Philosophy & Ethics of Teaching — Living the Practice

What Makes This Programme Different

Mentorship-Led, Not Module-Led — The Mahamukti Approach to 300 Hours

Many 300-hour programmes are simply a checklist of modules. At Mahamukti, the 300-hour training is built around small-batch mentorship — because at this level, what a teacher needs most is not more information, but direct, personal guidance from someone who has already walked the path.

Maximum 8 Students Per Batch

Smaller Than Our 200-Hour Programme

The 300-hour batch is intentionally smaller than our foundational programmes. This is not a scale business — it is a mentorship relationship, and that requires real faculty time per student.

Personal Teaching Voice Refinement

1:1 Feedback Sessions

Each student receives individual sessions specifically focused on their own developing teaching style — not generic feedback, but refinement of the voice they already have.

Direct Access to Yogi Akhilesh

20+ Years of Teaching Experience

At this advanced level, students train directly and extensively with Yogi Akhilesh himself across nearly every module — not delegated entirely to junior faculty.

Post-Graduation Mentorship Circle

Ongoing Support After You Leave

300-hour graduates join a smaller, dedicated alumni mentorship circle with monthly calls — career questions, sequencing help, and continued growth after the programme ends.

Specialisation Guidance

Finding Your Teaching Niche

Guided reflection and faculty input on what kind of teacher you want to become — therapeutic, Ashtanga-focused, retreat-leading, studio-based — and the practical next steps for each path.

RYT-500 Registration Support

Paperwork & Process Guidance

Direct guidance through the Yoga Alliance registration process for RYT-500 upon graduation, so the administrative side never becomes a barrier to using your new credential.

Mentored Teaching Practicum

You Already Teach — Now You Refine

Unlike the 200-hour practicum, this is not about learning to teach for the first time. It is about refining an already-developed voice, adding advanced tools, and receiving the kind of close, individualised feedback that is only possible in a small, advanced batch.

Calibration — Where Are You as a Teacher? (Week 1)

Each student teaches an assessed segment in the first three days so faculty can calibrate mentorship to your actual current level. Advanced asana and adjustment training begins immediately alongside this.

Integration — Teaching with New Tools (Week 2)

Students begin incorporating hands-on adjustment, mudra and bandha cueing, and Ayurvedic personalisation into classes they lead for their peers. Faculty feedback shifts from foundational correction to refinement.

Mastery Teaching — Lead an Advanced Class (Week 3)

Final assessment: each student designs and leads a complete advanced-level class incorporating a peak posture, therapeutic adjustment, and a philosophical theme of their choosing. This is your graduation as an advanced teacher.

Choosing Your Programme

200 Hour vs 300 Hour YTTC — Understanding the Difference

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything You Need to Know About the 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Goa

Everything international students ask before joining Mahamukti — answered honestly.

Still have questions?

We respond within 24 hours. WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach us — we speak English and Hindi, and can connect you with alumni from your country.
Yes. The 300 Hour YTTC is an advanced programme and requires a Yoga Alliance RYT-200 certificate, or an equivalent 200-hour yoga teacher training from another school, before enrolling. We ask for a copy of your certificate during the application process. If your training did not include formal certification, contact us directly and we will assess your eligibility individually.
Yes. Mahamukti Yoga Academy is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance USA for 100-hour programmes. Upon successful completion you receive a certificate qualifying you to register as an RYT-100 with Yoga Alliance — a globally recognised credential for teaching yoga professionally anywhere in the world.
The fee covers accommodation for the full duration of training, three vegetarian meals per day, snacks, tea and refreshments, all study materials, certificate of completion, and cultural excursions. The only things not included are your international flights and personal expenses. Everything else — from the mat to the meals — is handled for you.
The curriculum and Yoga Alliance certification are equivalent across both locations. The difference is the environment. Goa offers a beachside training in the warmth of North India’s coastal culture — Mandrem’s quiet beach, yoga by the sea. Bali offers the lush, spiritually-charged landscape of Ubud, surrounded by rice fields and ancient temples. Both are genuinely extraordinary — most students choose based on which location resonates with them most deeply.
Yes. After completing the 200-hour course and registering with Yoga Alliance USA, you are qualified to teach yoga professionally worldwide — in studios, gyms, retreats, corporate wellness, and private sessions. The 200Hr RYT is the international entry standard for professional yoga teaching. Many Mahamukti graduates are now teaching full-time across Europe, North America, Australia, and Southeast Asia.
October to April is the ideal season — Goa’s dry season, with warm sunny days and perfect open-air yoga conditions. November through March is most popular with international students. We also run select monsoon batches (June–September), which carry a deeply introspective, quieter energy that many dedicated practitioners specifically seek out. Prices remain the same year-round.
