Our 100-hour and 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training courses in Goa and Bali are built on over two decades of traditional teaching. Rooted in the Sivananda lineage, certified by Yoga Alliance USA, and led by a guru who has sat with 9,000 students across the Europe and Asia — and still teaches every class himself.

In Sanskrit, Mahamukti means the great liberation — the highest state of freedom a human being can realise. It is not a phrase we chose for its sound. It is the intention behind every course we teach, every retreat we host, and every student we welcome.
Mahamukti Yoga School was founded by Yogi Akhilesh Bodhi, a practitioner and teacher from the lineage of Sivananda Yoga Rishikesh — one of the most respected classical yoga traditions in the world. In more than twenty years of teaching, Yogi Akhilesh has guided over 9,000 students across more than 50 countries. He has taught in ashrams, wellness retreats, and training programmes across India, Europe, Southeast Asia, and beyond. He has watched yoga change people at a fundamental level — and he has built Mahamukti around creating the conditions for that change to happen.
Our programmes are Yoga Alliance USA certified and based across two of the world’s most beloved yoga destinations: Mandrem in North Goa, and Ubud in Bali. These are not generic courses assembled from a template. Every curriculum carries the weight of a lineage that goes back centuries — and the warmth of a teacher who is genuinely invested in each student in front of him.
Whether you arrive to build a personal practice, to begin teaching, or simply to step away from the noise of ordinary life and breathe again — this is the place where that shift begins.
