Refund & Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans change. This policy sets out clearly how deposits, refunds, and rescheduling work across all Mahamukti Yoga Academy Yoga Teacher Trainings and retreats in Goa and Bali, so you know exactly where you stand before you book.

1. Booking Deposit

A refundable deposit secures your place in any Yoga Teacher Training or retreat batch. The deposit amount varies by programme (see the table below) and is applied toward your total course fee — it is not an additional charge. Your spot is only confirmed once the deposit is received.

2. Refund Windows

Across all our programmes, refund eligibility is based on how far in advance of the batch start date you cancel:

60+ days before batch start	Full refund of deposit, minus the programme’s admin fee (see table below)
30–60 days before batch start	50% of the deposit refunded
Within 30 days of batch start	Deposit is non-refundable — however, you may transfer your registration to a future batch at no extra cost (see Rescheduling below)

Course fee balances paid beyond the deposit follow the same windows unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3. Refund Terms by Programme

Deposit amounts, admin fees, and transfer windows differ slightly by programme:

200 Hour YTTC — Bali	$300	Any future batch (Bali or Goa), within 12 months
Yoga Retreats (5/6/7-Day) — Goa	$150	Any future retreat batch, within 6 months

Figures shown are indicative and confirmed at the time of booking on your specific enrollment confirmation. Contact us via WhatsApp if you’d like current figures for your programme before applying.

4. Rescheduling Your Batch

If you cancel within 30 days of your batch start date, your deposit is non-refundable but is not lost — you may transfer it toward a future batch of the same programme (or, for select programmes, a related location) within the transfer window shown above, at no additional administrative cost. Rescheduling requests are subject to seat availability in the new batch and should be made as early as possible.

5. No-Shows & Early Departure

If you do not arrive for your confirmed batch without prior notice, or choose to leave the programme early once it has begun, no refund is provided for the unused portion of the course, accommodation, or meals. We encourage you to speak with us directly if personal circumstances arise during your stay — we will always try to find a fair, workable solution.

6. If Mahamukti Cancels or Postpones a Batch

In the rare event that we need to cancel or postpone a batch (for example, due to insufficient enrollment or circumstances beyond our control), you will be offered, at your choice:

7. Travel, Visa & Force Majeure

Mahamukti Yoga Academy is not responsible for flight cancellations, visa denials or delays, personal illness, natural disasters, government travel restrictions, or other events outside our reasonable control. These situations are assessed on a case-by-case basis, and while our standard refund windows still apply, we will always try to work with you — particularly on rescheduling — where genuine hardship is involved. We strongly recommend that international students take out travel insurance that covers trip cancellation and medical emergencies before booking flights.

8. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund

To cancel a booking or request a refund, please contact us in writing via email or WhatsApp with your full name, the programme and batch dates you registered for, and your booking confirmation reference. We aim to acknowledge all cancellation requests within 2 business days and process approved refunds within 10–15 business days to your original payment method.
